buy a Z-o6?

I am really close to buying a 2001 Z06 to share the garage with th L. Any thoughts? The 5yr 0% financing makes the deal almost to good to pass up.

From what I hear, you should pass on the 2001 and get the 2002 if possible.

If you are going to get a Z06, get the 02. More power and some issues were resolved with oil consumption, etc.

Ditto the '02 Z06. The '01's had way to many oil consumption issues.

also, if you can stomach a litttle more payment, the .9 for 48 months on an 02 comes out to a total finance charge of only like 900 bucks..

It's an upgrade to the already sweet Corvette.

If you can, put money down on a '02 and pay the 2.9% for 5yrs. It's not a bad deal. I wish I could afford a L, to go along with the Z06. That would be having the best of both worlds....... Also, the '01 Z06 was underrated from the factory and most '01s were dynoing around 400hp, with a few reaching 415hp with an aftermarket cold-air setup. There have been some issues with the '01s concerning oil consumption. The fix is to let the local Chevy dealer crack open your engine and replace the rings. If you do not plan on driving the Z06 hard, then you should be fine. Also, HUD is standard on the '02s and the suspension has been upgraded for better performance on the road course. Performance wise, I doubt very seriously if you were to go to a 1/4 track you would gain more than .1 over a '01, if that, in a '02. Good Luck!

I definitely considered the 02 but the payments were just not in the budget. But the upshot is I am now the proud owner of a Torch Red 2001 Z-06 I can't wait to get er broke in a give her a spin down the 1/4
