Well this isn't easy to start.

My Dad passed away 9/7/19. I inherited his lighting. I loved my Dad my whole life. I have loved his truck since I was 14yrs old, I'm 27 now.




She is in rough shape and I plan on trying to bring her back to life, but I'm gonna need some help. I don't have a lot of money so it's gonna take me some time. I just hope the neighbors and code enforcement don't crawl up my butt (I'm a renter, and I live right down the street from our local city hall).




As far as I know right now she isn't running. I'm gonna drain the oil, and the gas. I am going to check the spark plugs but a few coil packs are messed up and I don't know why, but I'll check into that a little tomorrow. Not to mention it needs a new battery. I am slightly mechanically inclined I just don't know what else I need to do before I try and fire her up. Please help me.

 

Sorry to hear about your dad. That's a hard pill to swallow. But you'll survive. I did and I was a teen when my dad died.
If you want help with the truck you'll need to post all you know about it. Like year, model, engine, how many miles, how long has it been sitting. Just to name a few. It's all important info in order to help you. Never know, might not require a lot of money to get it running.

I recently went through a similar event. My father passed in November of 2020 and I inherited his '01 lightning. I'm right there with you working on bringing her back to road worthy.
