Red face Pulley problem. HELP!

I'm not going into all the details of how it happened; but, while installing the PSP lower pulley one of the bolts was over torqued and stripped the bolt hole on the accessory drive pulley. I'm pi$$ed; but, indirectly, it was my fault for trusting someone else to help me out.
What I want to know now is am I screwed; or, can I still use JDMs pulley? I heard it was similar to stock. I drive an 01. :o

Well, all you damaged was the harmonic balancer. You COULD get new one and that would solve the problem, but of course you'd have to buy a new one. I might have one I use for pulley display that I could trade you for your damaged one.

What's required to replace the balancer? Can I do it myself with hand tools?

I don't know about L's, but most engines require a balancer puller/installer to remove the harmonic balancer. They're on there pretty tight...and no matter what, NEVER hammer a balancer on to the engine.

That's what I thought. Does the JDM pulley install the same way as stock on the 01?

I don't know much about the JDM pulley except that it uses the stock cage. I hope you don't have to replace the balancer

You and me both. I'll try my luck with a new upper pulley first.

Is there enough material to install a Heli-Coil to repair the threads?

I'm not sure. That's the first thing I thought of. I'm checking all my options right now. I think it was first rate for Sal to offer to trade balancers with me though. None of this was his fault in any way. He's not responsible for this in any way and yet he offers to help me out. I'm speachless! You da man, Sal! You da man! You da man! You........ da........ man!!!!
