Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor
A girl that I know (very opinionated one at that) just couldn't believe my truck could beat her 40K roadster. Worse, she had been telling me for all almost a year she could beat my butt anytime. Well, I'd finally had enough and arranged to meet her a ways out of town to beat a little awe of L into her. We lined up and I did a little burn out to warm up the F-1's. I think she got a little unnnerved by this as I don't think she thought a pick-up should, or could, be doing such things. Anyway, we take off and I pull away from her immediately, and keep on pulling away untill I shut it down at about 110. At this point, I was at least 10 and maybe 15 or more car lengths ahead of her. We stopped and talked -CHANGE OF ATTITUDE- she's duely impressed and wants a ride. These trucks are fun, especially when you run into people that have no idea what they can do!!!

That is a great story. Those little Kompressors really aren't that fast, much to the dismay of the people who pay $699 a month for them. My 4x4 would lose a drag race but not by much, and my wife's 2001 mustang GT convertible would literally eat it for lunch. Not too shabby considering that my 'effie can 4-wheel thru 12" of snow and my wife's 'stang cost a measly $23k with the xplan.
I would have paid money to see your L blow it's doors off, and the expression on her face.

I looked it up last year at the Motor Tend Web site to see what they are supposed to do in the quarter, and if I remember right it was low 15's & high 80's.
