what mods can be done without the need for a computer chip? Basically what modifications are ok for me to do beforeI get a chip? I plan on getting a chip, but not guite yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Pretty much every thing is ok with or without a chip. Most important when you do get your chip make sure to tell the tuner exactly what you do have. You will notice the biggest non-chip difference with a pulley, line-mod (shift kit), throttle body, all of which are easy bolt ons. If you do a gear change you will need a chip to correct your speedo.

 

You can get a intake (PSP, JL, JDM), pulley (PSP, JL, JDM?), slicks (M/T ET Streets), tractions bars if a 2001 (PSP, Jay Lincoln, JDM), shift kit (PSP/Factory Tech or Level 10), Trans pan (Ford 4x4 or other aftermarket). These are just a few off the top of my head, but there are other things you can do as well.

 

IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:

-Modify Stock air-box
-Shift-kit
-Pulley
-Sticky tires
-Nitrous

And of course lightening the load wouldn't hurt either for the best ET.

 

Upgraded front brakes
Suspension modification
Panhard bar
4x4 tranny pan and added remote cooler
Extra set of wheels with Road racing tires

Air Box would be the first Make sure not to OVER oil the filter will plan havic on the MS sensor.DON'T waste money on Exhaust, headers maybe but mainly for heat issues,no HP gains can be done without reworking exhaust IN the hds. gears would help.Stan
