gives a good pic of the hood,

i really do not like those wheels though, they look like they belong on a cadillac with the wheels sticking out 6 inches past the wheel wells. jmho

i like the jungle pic done in charcoal, looks tuff!

I don't know what it is

but I can't justify spending $500-600 on a hood. Some of them look great but damn. I'd rather spend that money in widening the rear wheels and sticking some 345's back there. I guess I have always been one for the sleeper look

Good looking trucks though, all of 'em!

I would have to disagree with that one. IMHO, I believe the Cowl does help in venting, keeping underhood temps low is critical for consistency.
Last winter (made a post) I actually tested uper intake temps with the stock hood, and with the cowl hood. The temps with the cowl hood were actually 30 degrees cooler than with the stocker. With removal of the upper fan/grill plastic cover, you will experience an even better air-flow over the blower/intake and out the cowl.
IMO

I'll give you that

a COWL hood does offer better cooling but what about the other hoods?

Everyone is entitled to thier opinion and I'm not saying that the hoods don't look good but that's a lot of coin. I have yet to install a cowl or any other hood for that matter on my Mustang. When space becomes a concern, then I'll do it.

IMO, the best hood for these trucks would be a Ram-Air with a 3 inch Cowl lift.
Also IMO, the ram-air hood has nothing to do besides trap air underhood, but they look good as well.

There is another cobra type hood slightly different from the aad. It's by pro-finish/pro-glass, same company dunno about the diff names..I would like to see a good pic of it on a f150/lightning, I have seen em before but angle distance makes it hard to tell how good it would really look. The center portion looks different than the aad and scoops might be further up, it is also a functioning ram air from my understanding unlike the aad. I would also like to say that although I dont own a lightning, because i bought my 99 when I was 18 and could afford it or the insurance I do drive a regular cab stepside w/ the 5.4, basically what your trucks started out as and I have learned a lot from your guys posts. Thanks and keep up the good work
