Talking Need feedback about this mod!!!

When I first purchased my L I put on a Borla Cat-back and now I want some added sound without the added price.

Heres the plan:

I still have the stock exhaust setup and I am gonna gut the stock muffler and buff the hell out of the stock tips to see how shiny I can get them. I want the straight pipe sound without actually doing it. Gutting the muffler will be difficult and I have the resources to do it(breaking muffler seal and re-sealing it) and was wondering what you guys thought about it. I was also wondering if I would get that straight pipe sound by doing this.

The gutting muffler part is in the works right now and I will let everyone know how she sounds!!!

Sounds like a good idea, you might have to add a small peice of pipe to make it straight through, without you could possible blow the muffler. Just an Idea

Thumbs up

I'm pretty sure that you would have to run a piece of pipe through the muffler to keep from blowing it out. Seems like I read something about this a while back in the exhaust forum, I believe someone said that you would have to run a piece of pipe through the muffler to make it right, but I don't know how that would affect the backpressure for the supercharger on the Lightning.

Thumbs down

I would think that this would cause turbulance in the muffler kind of like a gutted converter.I have seen mustangs actually slow down from gutting the factory converters because of this.
