Unhappy foglight problems

Well I tried to order my Xenon gas headlights and foglights last night from APC, and when I tell them the part number for the foglights (9145), they tell me they have never heard of that before. I was in shock!!!!!!!!! I told them that I got the number right off of the light AND it is listed as a 9145 in the owners manual. They did say that they were listing a 9006 as a replacement bulb. So I disconnected the bulb and went to a Murray's to compare the two bulbs. Although a 9006 looks similar to the stock 9145 it didnt look like a replacement (seemed to big of diameter where the O-ring lays). The bulb also says H10 on it. I mentioned this to Murray's and even they did a search but couldn't find a match.

Soooooo, what part number replacement bulbs are you guys using. Do those 9006's fit (if anyone has tried them). Or if not where in God's name did you order from and what part numbers did you replace them with.

Thanks.............

I have heard the 9145 so many times from people asking me so I called the dealer and asked. Well he said 9145 doesnt cross with anything. I found this hard to believe.

So I tried the 9006. On a whim. it worked.. This is in my 97 f150..

this was 2 years ago.. still got them in my truck in fact.

my reference guide also says 9006 or H3 for a replacement. You would know the H3 bulb though. It looks nothing like the 9006 and has a wire comming off it.

Anyways good luck figuring it out. If you lived near chicago I would just have you stop by my house and try a pair out just to be sure.

here is my reference list. www.showparts.com

Unhappy aghhhhhhhhh

I went last night to Murray's (the owner is a helluva guy) and he let me try to fit both an H3 and a 9006 in the foglight. Well neither one fit WTF.

Can anyone tell me what part number bulb they replaced their stock 9145 with. Did you have to buy some sort of adaptor??

frustrated........Joe

I tried this same procedure with my 01 when I got it back in March. Where I work we carry many different lighnt manufactors and nothing at all would cross or work that I could find. If someone else has an answer I would love to know also.

It doesn't rightly matter what you put in there, you're going to melt the damn lense anyway. Put an aftermarket bulb in those suckers and see if you can a warranty replacement. I think not!
