Ok I have a question on custom tuning
I hear so much about custom tuning and I just want to know...what does it entail, and what kind of improvments can one expect from a custom tune? Also, once done does it work for any weather condition or is it perfect for one type of weather and a compromise in other conditions?
How about this idea. What if some of us PSP customers got together and paid for Sal to come to Houston or Dallas and do us all a custom tune? If there were 20 or 30 of us it would cost next to nothing for his transportation. What about it Sal...you coming to Texas anytime soon? There are alot of us (PSP customers) here!

Jerry, MANY Texas customers have brought up the idea of getting together and bringing me down for a group tuning session. I have told every one so far, that I'm all for it. I think that all these interested people need to get together and actually set it up
.
As for the tuning, basicallt what we do is put the truck on the dyno and first make a few baseline pulls. Then I will monitor the A/F ratio of each vehicle and adjust A/F and timing to achive maximum power based on the fuel used. I usually will concentrate on tuning both lower rpm torque and high rpm power. If you have seen the dyno graphs I've posted from trucks I've done you will notice a very broad power curve, not just high peak numbers. High numbers are impressive to your friends, but more usable power all over the rpm band is what moves the truck. There is more to it than that, but that's the basic jist of it.

I have wanted to do this for sometime. If we get enough Oregon/Washington/NoCal guys it would no be to expensive to get Sal out here. I would be will to travel about anywhere on the West coast.
