A car I'd be happy with...

Hey Dreamin...

I think I've found a car to replace the Lightning.

Forget the Viper (too uncomfortable)
Forget the NSX (still my favorite of the three)
Forget the Z06 (too many corvettes on the road)

It's about the same price. It has 4 doors. It's VERY comfortable, which is important because it would be my daily driver. And, all I'd need is an extra set of wheels and racing tires for the track.

What do you think?

Spike

The only thing I don't like about Vipers is getting in and out of them. Once sitting in it I felt very comfortable.

That is nice luxurious car you found.

My problem with Mercedes is parts for them were more expensive than my Rolls.

The C class is a very nice car, but in limited supply and goes for 60K used. Most people are on a very long list and paying top dollar for this car.

Drive one the other day and it's "FAST"

C32 is sweet. My friend has a CLK55 thats a nice car too. I would get the C32, im a big fan of forced induction. Those cars rip. If i could swing it I would drive one.

Beautiful car. I was planning on a '02 M3, but I might have to research this one a bit more...

Oh yeah...

Yep, that would work. I too was going to suggest the M3... until I noticed that the Merc has more power and is lighter than the M3 (cant figure out how they got the M3 so heavy). And the Merc will be more comfortable. I would not recommend the M5 for a track car either... too heavy.

However, Mercedes has a problem converting horsepower into speed. They'll build a 400hp car and get 14.9 sec ET out of it?! You'll want to check the ET's. If is does 107-108 MPH... it'll be VERY competitive on the track. 105-106 will work... barely.

Nice light race wheels and race tires and you're good to go.

P.S. everyone: Spike would never get an M3... too "common" for him... Just too many damn M3's and M5's running around here in Silicon Valley...

Red face

Sorry, George, don't want to rain on your parade, but sedans just don't float my boat, especially ones that cost megabucks. I would rather spend the $90K on a boat (come to think of it, I just did). If I really needed four door I would rather keep my L. and get a WRX. Come to think of it, I just might do that.

Don't worry Alpha, it wouldn't bother me if I get one of these and it didn't float your boat. BTW, they're only about $60k. I'd pay $90K if it included a new garage. Friend of ours ordered a couple of Mercedes online and got a better deal than people are getting at the dealers. It was kind of bizzare watching someone spend $(insert HUGE sum here) with a click of the button. The cars showed up 2 months later, delivered to their door.

George
