MTX Thunderform sub box

Any experience with this box? The pic online makes it look like it's made out of plastic. Is it?
I like the way it forms to the cab of ao reg cab pu.
I was thinking about buying an empty box and putting two MBQuartz 10's in it.
Thoughts?
Thanks

I also have the same box but I have it loaded w/2 JLaudioW3.It sounds real good. And yes it is a hard plastic, pretty steardy.I recommend the box. Another good thing is you don't lose any leg room.

I was looking at the same box.....would you guys reccomend the amp that comes with it? I already replaced the stock 5x7's with some three way polks but the stock head unit isn't strong enough when you crank em up now.

I plan to change the head unit and i already have the stock speakers replaced. With this box will it drown out the sound or will it sound perfect without any other changes besides the ones i plan to do?

MTX Thunderform

I just ordered a loaded MTX thunderform yesterday. I already have an amp (320 watt RMS MTX), that I will be using to power it with.
I'll let you know how I like it.

Thumbs up

Thumbs up on the box, looks good and is very durable. No carpet to try to match. Mine is also loaded with the 10" 6000s. I just wish they offered it w/12"s. I don't think I'd go with the built-in amp. If you have problems, you'll have to ship the whole friggin' thing back. I'm running mine off a cheap Crunch amp 800x1x4ohm and it cranks. The 10s tend to break up a little early under 45 Hz, but they have good punch, and blend well with door speakers.

To actually answer your question. The enclosure is made ouf ot ABS plastic. I contemplated going with the empty thunderform enclosure, but instead opted for a single Illusion Audio ND12. Its about the only 12" subwoofer out there that fits without a problem since it is only 3" deep. Its not for the bassheads though but is one of the best sounding subwoofers on the market. I had the choice of dozens of companies as I am a retailer in the caraudio market and went with these even though I don't carry them. If you want to see some pics of the ND12 head on over to http://www.onlinecaraudio.net/nd12

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'll give it a shot. I do like the clean look of the install.

Has any copied it out of other materials?

Another question.? Has anyone tried putting a sub in the rear speaker compartment? Is there enough room?
