I'll bet that if you call SVT,they'll send you another book.I heard they are sending out the updated books for the 2001s.It may just be random or rumor.

I'd be willing to bet that you local dealership's service department would be MORE THAN HAPPY to give you a brochure stating their recommended maintenance schedule.

Here's what I'd advise, you can always do things sooner than later if you prefer.

Oil&Filter every 2500-3000 miles.

Tires rotated every other oil change 5000-6000 miles also lube hardeware (steering/ suspension components and doors/latches etc)

Thats really about it (that I can think of right now) until about 25,000-30,000 miles.

you can change your fuel and air filters at 15,000 miles if you prefer, otherwise your major service should be scheduled at 25-30K.

*Transmission service, change fluid and filter.
*Oil & Filter change.
*Air Filter and Fuel Filters changed.
*Coolant system flushed or coolant changed.
*Rotate and balance tires.
*Inspect and/or replace brakes.
*Inspect serpentine belt for cracks etc.
*Check and top all other fluids and tire pressure.
*Clean/service battery if needed (clean off crud and corrosion from top of battery and terminals).
*Lube steering/suspension components and body hardeware.

thats about all I can think of, but I may have missed something.

Alot of places are going to try and sell you power steering flushes and injector flushes. Ford is notorious for having their power steering systems fall apart, but this is mainly on rack&pinion equipped cars. still it might not be a bad idea to have that fluid flushed or replaced when it starts losing it's red color and becomes dark or grey. Also everybody is going to try and sell you an injector flush and throttle body clean, these can be good services when performed correctly, but alot of them spray harsh chemicals into the throttle body. you should clean your TB, but I'm wary of spraying these chemicals through the supercharger because many of them can literally melt rubber/plastic so I can't imagine they are good for the teflon lined rotors. also fords rarely (almost never) have any problems with clogged injectors any more.

hope this helps, again visit your local Ford dealers and I'm sure they'll give you a printed sheet with a suggested maintenance schedule.

later,
chris
