Fibreglass bed lids

Hello to all :

Just completed our first weekend with the 01 Lightning.
No dings , no dents, no stone chips, no tickets.
What a blast.

Anyway I'd like to get a fibreglass bed lid for the lightning and wondered if any of you might have some suggestions.
Right now I am leaning towards an A.R.E. lid.

Thanks
Dave Bort

Thumbs up Fiberglass Bed Lids

mdsbort:

I currently have an Innovation-Industries Pro-Sport kevlar that
has the small spoiler on the rear that really stands out on the
Lightning. This lid makes this truck really stand out from the crowd
and screams fast standing still. I had mine before the WFC 3 in
May of 2000 and was in my opinon the best or one of the best at
that event. Of the guys that saw it they (I think about 6) ordered
and either changed to it or got this one. Ask the board what it
thinks on it. But this is the one that looks the best!!!

Snug Lid

We use a Snug Lid on our L. It fits very well and looks good. We liked it so much that when we spun the truck and the old one cracked, we bought another one. Here is a picture of it on our truck. It's not a good picture, but ill see if I can find a better one.

I have an A.R.E. lid and highly recommend it. It is high quality, and the best part of it is that it goes with the lines of the truck hood. A.R.E. has different styles for Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, etc. The only thing I dont like is that it is a 2 man job to take it off if you need to carry something tall in the bed. There are some models that have quick release pins that come off easy. If that is not a concern of yours, then consider the A.R.E. Hope this helps. Tom

The Pro-Sport wins hands down. There have been many pictures posted of it, installed on our trucks, here on F150online. Can't remember who it was though. Two things happen when you get old, you lose your memory ....and.....can't remember the other thing

A.R.E. all the way!

Every one has their own opinion I guess. I saw the innovations lid in "Truckin'" and loved it on the Chevy in the picture. I decided that was the lid for me. I then saw some of the other Ls with the lid installed and didn't like it as much. It just doesn't match up well with the lines of the truck in my opinion. I then saw pics of the A.R.E. on a couple of trucks and fell in love. It matches up perfectly with the rounded edges found all over our trucks. Here is an example.

The innovations hood is a nice piece imho.

I cant say that I have had any experience with fitment or any other lids, but the innovations looks great. The dealer had several L's on the lot. One being a silver with the innovations lid. I fell in love the minute I saw it.

You can see the lid in the pic in my sig. Little small, but you get an idea of the small spoiler.

Thumbs up

Hey there guys and gals, got a ******** top here and I love it! I waited almost 4 months for a Cover Craft and kept getting the runaround from them over my truck being a flareside and not being able to produce one for awhile. Well then, called up K C Custom Trucks in Kansas City and had mine installed in less than 30 days! Fits so nicely too, smooth finish and no humps in mine. I chose this topper for a few reasons like no hump and no big T handle to follow me around out back. I have dual barrell locks on top and people ask me all the time where I get, who is it made by, and where can I get one?

Outta here ShowYa in Kansas City!
