Dave, yank it off the truck. It will help your 60fts and unless to Auto-x the truck you'll never know it's gone.

Take off the rear axle too. It's really heavy.

I also disagree. For the last year and a half or so I have been driving around with no front sway bar. And here within the last week I reistalled it, and man...what a difference, handles much better.
For track use, I highly recommend removing it. It's not that much of a pain in the ***, but it could be tough for some because it requires getting under the truck. But you will be rewarded with better 60'.

Dont get me wrong, the truck will handle fine enough to get by, but you cant really get into the corners that quick without it, you'll notice the truck will lean more in the corners. IMO

What kinda drop in 60' could be expected on your basic L with F1's? I've ran 13.23 (chip and filter) with a 1.974 60'. Looks as if the weathers goon be pretty good for this upcoming weekend and I'm looking for everything I can to try for that elusive 12 sec. et.

I just disconect the ends then swing it up and zip tie it to the frame . everything has plenty of room to move and its quick to put back together when your done . i did did plent of driving around with it like this to ensure its safe and nothing would get caught up in the steering .

I ran my quickest w/o the front sway bar. It is noticable on corners, so don't take corners fast until you get used to it.

Had mine off for the past year,no problem even on road trips, but you do drive a bit more sensible.Best 60' so far 1.69,think that pretty much says it all.

Cool

I took my front sway bar off my 01 and it drove about the same on the street except I did notice it leaning more in the corners only. I took it to 2 different tracks and on my truck i saw no improvement on 60ft. times at either track.I put my sway bar back on and went with a different wheel/tire setup and now running better 60ft. times than before.

Ooooo... and I wouldn't drive aggressively at all on sweepers, freeway onramps, offramps... if you ever have to hit your brakes hard (cuz of slow traffic or whatever)... with no front sway bar, the rears gonna come around on you real sudden-like. It only has to happen once.

Unless someone has done testing for the above ... if so, please advise.

This is a dumb rookie question, but just exactly what and where is the sway bar located??

Also, how hard is it to take off and put back on at the track and how does it affect your times??
