Need some Lightning support
Need some Lightning support
On October 6 at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek MD., there is an open invitation to Lightning owners.
C'mon let's beat up on some SS impalas. All in fun. I'd like to see a dozen or so Ls there.
Here is some info
this started as a Impala thing with myself and a couple otherLs invited 'cause we work in the same place)
Saturday morning, 9am to 2pm, October 6th.
$20 per racer if they tell the gate that they are with the special club test session. Just say, "I'm with the car club".
All others not associated with the club have to pay $40 bucks. What the club will be doing is having simple open timed runs and arranging friendly "grudge runs".
The 2 clubs are Super Stallions of the Net and the East Coast Impala SS Racing Series.(one of these groups may not be able to show so to keep the track event open I was told to invite some Lightning owneres and maybe we could get some FRIENDLY L vs I races) At some point during our test session there will be an ImpalaSS Club bracket race, (for impalaSS's only of
course)"this may be changed for obvious reasons"DRD. Then again near the end of the day, around 1pm, we will have an arranged matchup between Super Stallions of the Net racers and Impala SS racers for 1 quick round of bracket racing. (invite only for this race)."also subject to change"DRD
During the day, MIR is giving 2 or 3 lanes for the "Club" to line up in. There are also other cars there not associated with the "club" and they will be lined up in their own "test-n-tune" lanes.
The track is not provided to me for exclusive use. We simply are getting some special treatment such as having bracket race eliminations and trophies provided and the reduced cost. (I simply need 50 cars at $20 each to cover what I signed for---$1000). Spectators will cost some amount I
don't know... I think $10 each. But the more people spectating, the better for me to meet that $1000.
That is it in a nutshell.
Invite more friends if you(me-DRD) want to without my permission. If they know you then they are ok.
Karl(the guy I work with-DRD)

When I told the guy sponsoring this about running against the SS cars he said we'd kill 'em. They have a decent motor but they appear they would be heavy, and I don't know about gearing (3.36, 3.42, 3.73) I figure 13.5-14+ unless they got some good mods. But I really don't know 'cause I don't like 'em enough to find out. not good looking cars to me. Here's some time and mods I just found.
