Might add I don't put alot of faith in the accuracy of the autometer guages,So check it out before ya tear it apart.

I would say Autometer needs to take a serious look at their Quality Assurance Program. Based on these post alone it "sucks". Factory boost is 8-9lbs, lower pulley is 2-3, upper pulley is 1-1.5 would max out at 13.5 with all the goodies that effect boost out put.
Some serious problems with these gauges. :?

It should be the same, the compression was not changed for '01 and should not be affected by the new intake.
That figure was what I was told by the tech, he seemed competent and the # sounded about right.
Anyone out there with a shop manual that can corroborate 175psi as the correct # ?

Maybe the new cooler does not flow as well. Wouldn't that cause boost to go up?

What kind of autometer guage are you using. I use to have a set of the artic series they were alright but mine to only read like 9 lbs and once in a blue moon 10 when the stock guage was way over pinned in the black. But i have since switched to the utlra lite series which are sweet and look like the nascar guages. Now i get usually 13lbs of boost but i also noticed that my friend who installed my first set of guages missed one spot to put teflon tape on on the threaded brass piece that goes into the boost guage. I did that so that might have something to do with it. Also after i did that i noticed that now my aftermarket guage sits at no vac where as my old guage use to sit at like 1-2 vac when she was off.

Vin, I have the same problem with my (ultra lite) gauge showing 1" to 1.5" vacuum when the truck is off. I'm ordering a new gauge today. I tried to open the old one up to adjust it and I dropped it...now I have 20 lbs of boost with the key off. LOL
