Gold Rush Results
I just spoke with Stan and got the results from Gold Rush. He entered the 140 mph speed class this week and got 4th place. His average speed was a little over 140 mph, but the time was off. The course had a couple of hills near the end and it was difficult to dial in the times. Still, averaging 140 mph is impressive, considering that the elevation was high on this course. He topped out at 130 mph on a steep uphill that was far over 7000 ft (he may have said 7800 ft). He didn't get his trap speeds yet, but thinks they were about 162 mph.
On a lighter side, one of the racers blew up his car at the last event and rented a Dodge Neon from Enterprise rent-a-car. He entered it in the 110 mph class and took third. Apparently, it would peg the redline at about 116 to 117 mph. He beat a Viper and a 308 Ferrari.

BTW, Ruslow did have a minor mechanical/electrical failure during the race. His oil pressure light came on and he thought he lost oil pressure. He was running over 140 and got off the throttle. Since there was no noise or loss of power, he got back on it. Apparently, a gauge wire attached itself to a header.
