Well, from what I understand if the truck over boosts ANY, be it from colder ambient temps, or higher shift points wrapping the blower up more the stock boost solenoid will open and vent the excess boost off. They either vent it all off or stick when trying to close,....either way all of a sudden you have a 331ci N/A motor in a big ole' heavy truck. If the ECM doesn't know what boost the motor is at,...it won't ever bleed boost off. Sorta like running a bleed valve on a turbo car,...or like you'll hear some of the Supra guys talk "pulling the hoses".
