I was delighted (and Proud) Friday to here that my employer, Nissan Motor Company Donated $1 million + Matching employee donations.
Nissan announced today it will donate $1 million to assist in the relief efforts in New York and Washington, D.C. in the wake of the tragic terrorist attacks that has devastated those cities.
On behalf of its affiliates, employees and dealers around the world, Nissan will provide $500,000 to the Pentagon Relief Fund of the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. and $500,000 to aid the families of the hundreds of New York police officers and firefighters who lost their lives trying to save others.
Nissan will also match employee donations to these organizations in accordance with Nissan's gift matching guidelines.
"The global community watched in horror as terrorist events unfolded in New York City and Washington, D.C.," said Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO of Nissan Motor Company. "Many of us -- especially our colleagues in the United States -- will continue to experience some adverse repercussions and will have to deal with the sadness that this tragedy will have on every part of our lives. We hope that this donation will help allay the effects of the horrible aftermath that the families of these victims will have to face."

Merck donated 5 Million for the disaster... Myself and alot of my fellow steamfitters have signed up to go to the WTC to help in the cleanup. Don't know if Iam ready for what i will see because I'll tell you, seeing the towers come down with my own eyes had more of an impact than seeing it on tv. God bless America

MGM and Parkplace entertainment each donated $1 million. In times like this it's nice to see big corp help out. Even though this is costing the casino industry greatly they still are happy to help out. The casino I work for (Aladdin) has cut it's workforce by 25% for the next few weeks and some permenatly. I'm one of the lucky ones and only have to take a weeks vacation but might turn out to be a permenat if things don't get back to normal quickly(not that they ever can, but somewhat).
