Arm the Pilots
Get Dan Rather off the air. He is an obvious supporter of Afghanistan and has made several negative comments about President Bush during this crisis, while at the same time, never making a single negative comment about Osama bin Laden or others suspected of attacking the US. The man has not shown any sign of emotion during this whole ordeal other than excitement of getting to have his face on the air nearly 24 hours a day since this crisis began. He repeatedly gets important country leaders on air to interview and asks really dumb questions over and over, such as -"Do you really think the US should retaliate against these terrorists? Is our present US leaders really the ones to blame?"- The man is a boob and a disgrace as a citizen of this country.
Why not put in secure doors that cant be opened from the outside and in the ****pit is the pilot, co-pilot, and security guard. The gurards job would be to watch a monitor that is hooked up to v-cameras (like the ones in stores that are in a dome so you cant see where it is zooming and pointing) to watch the passenger cabin. Passengers wouldnt know if there were being watched or not. Put a peep-hole in the ****pit door. When the quard goes on breaks he could patrol the isles. (hire a big guy, a plane bouncer if you will) Train him and the flight attendents how to use stun guns so as not to damege the fuselage. The guard would also have his weapon and nite stick just in case. It sounds like big brother watching but I wouldnt mind if it kept things safe. Maybe it would keep some of the out of control kids in line Ive seen on recent flights lately. Thats another story!

Good link Jim!!!!
I agree.
Federal funding for air marshalls? Not sure about that one. How about dove-tailing this as a "tour-of-duty" for newer U.S. Marshalls? Yes, they will obviously require more staff so my point is proper, accountable fund allocation.
A real logistical PIA but nonetheless necessary.
As for a nightstick, too bulky for CQB (ie: isleways). An ASP works real nice.
