Which set up would be faster?

My current set up of 4.10's and stock pullies or back to the 3.55's and a lower pulley. I'm afraid going back the the 3.55's will make my truck feel like a dog. Any opinions? thanks

If you are hooking up with 410's keep them and add a pulley it just comes on faster and makes 20 more hp? 355's will dog. 373 is a good compramise. Is drag racing your goal? The 410 on slicks will give the best times. The pulley is a small mod.

The 410's really dont hook. I always thought 4.10's w/ the 26" slick made for too much gearing. Not to mention the 10-11 mpg.

Question

Z28KLR,
I was considering the 410's for my next mod cause i have the 355's now and they are kind of doggish. What do you think about them, they didn't improve ur times at all?? How much higher do they rev city/hwy? Jim at JDM told me that in the city its about 300 higher. What about the hwy, is it anoying?? Sorry bout all the ques.
Thanks
Smok'n L

Chad, your 4:10's made you the quickest L at Calsbad, excluding Viper Luke. Those gears make a big difference with stock tires. They do not hook up though.

Eventually, I am going to change to 3:73's, and use a 26" tall ET Street. I'm not sure what the final ratio would be, but it should be in the neighborhood of 3:90 when running the slicks.

What was your RPM through the lights with the F-1's and the 4:10's

I couldn't tell you how much it improved my times, I bought the truck with the gears done. To tell you the truth it is kind of anoying on the freeway, at 60 i'm pulling 2000 rpm. That may not sound like much, but crusing at 80 plus gets anoying. I wouldnt take my truck to vegas because of it. I think i ran .1 and 2mph quicker than jay and we are about even on Hp/tq.

I'm not sure of my trap rpm, probably 400 higher than you. Did i read some where you're doing a pulley?
