Exclamation Give blood

For those who want to do something more constructive than rant, you might want to contact the American Red Cross Blood Services @ 800-GIVE-LIFE.

Wish I could. Dammit. I lived in England for 3 years and they won't let me donate until they get to the bottom of that Mad Cow crap. I lived there from '79 - '82.

I'm on my way this afternoon. Last time I tried they wouldn't take it because I had been overseas and had Malaria shots.

Thumbs up Attention New York State Residents

BC-NY--Attacks-Blood Donations (Tops)
Red Cross to hold expanded blood drives throughout New York

(Rochester-AP) -- American Red Cross blood centers across New
York state will stay open late today and tomorrow to help provide
blood to hospitals in New York City following the attacks on the
World Trade Center.
Centers in Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse
will be open until ten both nights in a show of support for the
blood center in the city following today's tragedy.
Kristine Smith of the state Health Department says people seem
to be responding in droves.
Pataki ordered the State University of New York to coordinate
blood drives on campuses statewide.
Many Red Cross blood centers had reported low supplies before
the terrorism left perhaps thousands killed and injured.
Blood donation centers statewide have also reserved half of
their local supply to be sent to New York City when they are
needed.
