Question wider tires on stock rims?

has anyone done it before and if so what tires? I think a 315 would be cool but the only thing I found close to the same height was a 315/40/18 Goodyear supercar tires at $369 a pop. I do want to keep the stock rims though

Any info would be appreciated

What are those? The Z06 rear tires? I think they come up about half an inch shorter.

Question how wide to make the rims?

In Brimstones post:
they are 315s on 1" widened wheels, no need for spacers just had to tie up the brake cable.
and Tirerack.com lists these as needing a rim that is 11 - 13" wide. Arent the stock wheels only 9.5" though? And if we do go 1.5" wider to get to that 11" spec, will this cause any problems with the fit?
