18" slicks/wheels

My wheels showed up today (thanks to a fellow L owner). Now it is time to get the 18" road race slicks mounted up. At the strip I know they won't hook up as well as drag slicks but I bet they hook better than F-1's. On the road course it should stick like glue. Should be no problem with the new suspension and slicks to pull more than 1G.

Here is a lead on road race tires. I am mounting the Dunlop 300/710R18 (Viper). This is the closest in height and width to the F-1's. I will measure them tomorrow once they are mounted. They will be slightly wider and about 1/2" taller.

Buying them new is expensive, approx $2000 for 4 tires. Your best bet is to find a race team that uses the size you want and pick up their take offs (scrubs). Mine are one heat cycle take offs and didn't cost anything. I did however have to buy another set of L wheels and have to pay for mount and balance.

Thank's Wayne.

Hey Wayne want to try Woodburn after work on Friday? I will check the schedule I think they are still running friday night drags. Usually crowded but the lines move pretty fast. I think they run like 4-8pm.

I can't go this Friday, but I have the 21st off and I plan of going if they are open. Let me know if you want to go next Friday.

Any luck on those prices?
