Question First Amendment

Webmaster -

Please give us a little latitude so some of this stuff can get aired out and go away. I agree with most that the personal attacks are unecessary and inappropriate.

I do not agree that boards a "one to many" communication. There is alot of one-to-one posts found on this board.

I also so not want to see your or this boards credibilty and ethics hurt from what could be considered biased and arbitrary control of this discussion board.

Just out of curiosity, can you lock individuals out of a specific thread but keep the thread open? Just a thought.

Closing threads borders on being akin to burning records and books that someone does not feel are appropriate.

Thank you for letting me voice my opinion and concerns.

I must agree. Although, I don't think any of the tuner wars are going to go away, ever. They can talk til they are blue in the face, but it wont matter. I dont see Sal, Jim, or anyone else saying, "Yea, you are right. XXXX-thing is better/faster/cheaper than mine." Nor should you expect them to - maybe the rivalry helps us owners out in the long run from competition.

Also, I know it is Steve's board ultimately to run how he sees fit, and I do think the thread closing have been down recently, but remember he is doing what he thinks is best to keep this a board you want to keep visiting.

His board, his rules. Better reread that first ammendment and see who it is aimed at.

Listen... Alot of you new guys really have no idea what is what around here. The little political crap going on between the tuners will always go on. When you have several people fight over the same dollar, there is going to be alot of tentsion. I am one person that got way too caught up in this LIGHTNING POLITICS GAME. And in my eyes, was even used as a scapegoat from a few....

Bottome line:
There is NOTHING good that could come from opening or allowing that thread to continue. If one person is "offended"...then ohh well.

Steve did the right thing!!

Good points by all. I have noticed some signs of civility in some recent posts. It seems like the people on this board do more to stir up the fire than the tuners sometimes.

logical - his board; the people's internet. As I said, don't want to see a good board and its credibility diminished.

I agree with cornercarver's signature approach. Why would I want any of you or some car thief out their to know what I'm running? We might race someday!

My comments in that thread and its subsequent closing have nothing to do with the First Amendment or was in any way meant to discourage users of any product to freely discuss them here.

My message was posted because I was enraged to see someone post a sarcastic message on F150online's bandwidth that was obviously meant to stir up trouble, from a person that has only chosen to reveal a very small portion of his reality. There are other vendors that have chosen to contribute to help this site exist in its current form for all of you, and while that does not mean that these vendors can say anything, it does sure as **** mean that I am not going to provide a platform for a vendor that has chosen not to, and belittles this site to fix his business.

I don't know Jim, I don't own a Lightning and I don't care to get involved with or mediate tuner wars. If Jim wants to discuss his business practices, or at least what he cares to reveal about his business practices, let him do it on his own bandwidth. It doesn't belong here. The same would apply to Sal or JL..just ask Sal.

I have asked Doug to close and/or delete threads that continue this subject. They have no place on these boards. If you want to laud Jim and make me look like an evil bastard for my actions, you can do it on his site.

Re-opening a thread to continue a debate that has no point wastes everyone's time. Get on with your lives and settle your disputes at the track...or over an ice cold Fresca (or any beverage from the Coca-Cola company for that matter).

Oh, and I would highly recommend to anyone that feels that closing of thread violates their First Amendment rights to actually READ the First Amendment before trying to cite it. F150online is a privately operated business with cleary posted terms of usage that everyone here agreed to (with the exception of Raoul and possibly MRBBQMAN).
