Raced a modded Z28!
I was out saturday night and it was beautiful to say the least, truck was running strong and air was cool! NICE.
So I headed to my buddies house to go cruise over to burboun street and this guy in a silver LS1 pulls up next to me. I new he had some work down cause my buddy has told me about this car before. He's supposed to be running a full exhaust, TRQ convert, shift kit, mass air, chip and that moroso air filter thing they make. I guess the kids like to go fast but doesn't like to work on his own car, so my buddy does the work on it.
Anyway I didn't know if he wanted a piece so I kinda did the Little L jump with a brake TRQ. He saw the *** end come about 2 inchs up in the air *** tha damn rear binded up. But he new I wanted a piece anyway.
So the light turned and I couldn't believe how well the Dunlops hooked up. I wasn't at WOT but I walked the LS1 from the start. It seemed like everytime that car shiftedit would loose even more ground on me, maybe he's got a bad TRQ or something. but I would definetly go back to stock with that. So by the time I got up to about 80MPH I shut it down because I couldn't even tell that it was a LS1 with the lights anymore. The only problem I did have was the little second gear tire spin I had. Trucks shifting awesome and with the belt real tight It's got sick power now. I LIKE IT ALLOT

This kids LS1 is supposed to be running in the high 12's now, so I guess that belt tensionoir, upper pulley and new program is really hauling now. I didn't have any juice on, that wouldn't have even been funny!

Bro has Air Lid, self-ported MAF, Ram Air Hood (not WS6 car), and 2800 stall converter...
his 60' times are mid - high 1.8's and runs 12.8-12.9
there is another guy, same mods, with heads and cam, higher stall running 12.0's at 115ish... and low 11's on the bottle...

I know what you mean about the funny ones, There's allot of LS1's in my area that I would even try to race.
Last year I remember seeing this White LS1 with just a couple bolt ons and a big 200 shot juice and he had to running int he low 11's. He was racing this GN that runs mid to low 11's and he lost by about 1 car legnth to him, but he also gave the GN 3 spots and the bust. Fast a$$ LS1.
