Cool A few FFW Cordova pics.

Unfortunately this weekend was a washout at Cordova for the Fun Ford Weekend but here's a few pics when it wasn't raining.

In a moment of clarity Lightning Bob cleans up after himself.

A fellow competitor looking for lost parts.

Thumbs up

I would also like to add that even though it rained on our little parade, I had a great time with the ILLNESS crew. It's a shame we haven't gotten together more this year. I would especially like to thank Reality 1 for his gracious hospitality.
Let's go racing soon fellas !!

Cool

Rob,

Cool pics!

It was great to see you and Lightning Bob again! Too bad it rained on our little parade. I called the track this morning and they advised me that the grey ticket stubs will be good for an entry fee at any Fun Ford event for a period of one year. I don't have any info. yet regarding the membership money for the season points race. I don't think they should be able to keep that money if we made ZERO elimination passes. If necessary, I will contact the powers-that-be at Fun Ford and get some answers.

Take care,
Jake...

Hey Rob,

Nice Pics,

I also want to thank Reality1 (and Mrs. Reality1) for their gracious hopitality in putting me up for the week.

Also, a REALLY BIG THANKS to Baby Jake for helping me install drop shackles and JDM lift bars in my new 2001 on Saturday morning at his place of employment (JDnot M). Jim and Julie at JDM had rushed the bars out to me Thursday so I would have them in time for the FFW race but I didn't have time for the install until I got down to the Quad Cities.

It was great seeing Mr. & Mrs. BigD, and J Man again, and being able to have a few beers with all of the above again too.

Friends like this are why I bought another Lightning!

Lightning Bob

We too, had a good time with the ILLNESS gang...even if it did rain on our race. I especially enjoyed seeing Rob G's clean truck (makes me ashamed for almost 2 seconds), and feeding "Chipster" sunflower seeds, and everyone else beer.

1st place for the biggest ice bag goes to Baby Jake...hands down...that thing must have weighed 150 lbs! 1st place for consuming refreshments goes again to Baby Jake, with Rob G running a close second.

I garnered the trophy for the best red light....I left before the tree was switched on I hate these .4 pro trees!

Too bad it rained...I know I had some mid 12's coming if the truck improved Saturday to Sunday, like it did Friday (14.1x) to Saturday (13.3x)...with this chip, you never know...look for it in the mail Sal

A lot of fun was had by all, and we must do it again next weekend??....where

...BigD (and Mrs BigD)...

Question

How about that fancy all concrete track in Iowa ???
Perhaps in a couple of weeks so I can test out that new
part on my truck

ROBG 41 is supposed to have something this weekend.

My buddies and me all want to go, I should have off work so we could jet and have a blast this weekend.

So what did you guys run? Would I even have any Gen2 competition or NO? J/K. Wish I was there

Who won renegade, I hope it wasn't bart again, even though I know its going to be him. Did you see eddie there! He was playing pit crew for Bob kurgen, they really wanted me to go and help him out, YEAH RIGHT

Anyway, give me a call and let me know when the next little get together is going to be. Sorry I couldn't be there!

Joe,

Nobody won anything because it was raining all day Sunday.
All we got to run was our qualifying passes on Saturday and I
doubt you would've set the Lightning world on fire with the crappy
weather we had.

As a side note, Steve Grebeck ( I'm pretty sure it was him ) ran
a 6.75 @ 207 mph in Pro 5.0 during qualifying.

I'm pretty sure it was cancelled. J Man ( silver truck in the pics. ) was the quickest of the bunch with mid-12 sec. passes and everybody else was high 12's low 13's. My best pass was only a 12.8 so the humidity was definitely a factor. One of the mod motor racers said the calculated elevation was 4,700' !!! Yikes

HAHAHAHAHA

I just noticed bobs healight.

Did he finally ditch the HVAC system and do a new Lightning bob one of a kind ram air.

I'll tell you what, us Illness guys sure are inovative. Must be the Chi town air.

Hey, what rims and tires is J-man running. I've been looking into some front runners and rear aluminum rims. Billet looks like the only promising thing right now, 16x7 in the front with a 205/60/16 and then 16x9.5 in the back with the E.T. streets. about $1200 bucks to get it all done, thats with the E.T.'s I got at home also. Should be nice though, and make the truck real low to the ground for aero dynamics, HAHAHAHA

Angry

Joe,

I just read your post under the thread that Jim started and let me be clear on one thing. Don't talk s#*t to someone YOU don't know!!! You seem to be an expert on all things Lightning when a year ago you didn't know what a f*$@!*g chip was!!
If you want to swallow everything that Sal and good 'ol Spiro are
feeding you be my guest but you'll just end up looking like a fool
in the long run. Later.
