Thumbs up This Bassani exhaust rules!

Finally had the Bassani cat back sytem installed yesterday. This is without a doubt, the way they should come from Ford. Incredible sound! Powerful deep growl without choking @ WOT. It even sounds awsome at idle. I definately plan on finishing the system out with the headers and cat pipes. Speaking from experience in having had Flowmaster and Magnaflow (12568) previously, there is absolutely no comparison.............worth every penny!!!!!

The Bassani cats in the past have failed for many users and Bassani did not replace them for most of the guys. Bassani now says that their cats are made by a different company. Different company???? What do they do just marketing? Those who dynoed before and after with the Bassanis saw ZERO increase in horsepower. $1500 bucks is a lot to pay for a little noise. Try an Edlebrock 5512 muffler. Better sound and only cost $120.

I installed the complete system on my truck in June and have had no problems with any of it yet (knock on wood). I would reccomend getting the headers with the ceramic coating on them though. The only system the shop had in stock where I got mine from didn't have it and the headers are already starting to turn blue from the heat. The sound was THEE reason I put the system on. Hey it's only money. lol. The larger polished tips look better in the exhaust cut-out also.

Does the Bassani cat-back come without cat's and use the stock catalytic converters or what's the deal? Is it an easy install in the driveway or a job for the exhaust shops?

One of the guys here did it in his garage, but he had one problem. One of the pipes was not flared correctly and he had to take it to a muller shop and have it expanded. If you are going to do it at home check the fit of all the pipes first.

I guess it depends on the sound you're looking for. I personally like the low growl of the borla cat-back. 'Got mine fairly cheap and gained 1 mpg on local driving. Hwy trips should show an even greater increase. They sound great at WOT But don't wake up the nieghborhood on late nights.
I had dual 40's (Flowmaster) on before but they were installed poorly and were creating enough back pressure to burn the mufflers up in about 2000 mi.

Bassani makes awsome headers, and there cat back system for the Lightning is a nice peice. I agree with some of the other guys who say they have the worst customer service of any company I have ever delt with.

I had one of there systems on my 99, and had nothing but problems with it. Bassani wouldn't stand behind there product, so I ended up removing it and put a custom system in it's place. I sent it back to them just to show them I was serious about removing it.

It is to bad they lost a customer forever, I will never put any bassani products on anything I own ever, even it is the best at the time.

Im not sure if Bassani sells tips for our trucks. But the Cat Back System comes with the tips and nice x pipe to. The sound is just plain awesome sounds like the truck is mean and i swear you can hear me coming from like a block away. The tips that come with the Cat Back system are awesom they are stainless and 4inches now. Make the stock tips look like tooth picks.

I have the full Bassani and mine sounds mean, like a big block. My truck is almost as loud as my Mustang with an off road pipe and two flowmasters at WOT, only way deeper. The blower still drowns out everything under boost.
