Talking Search Tip For The New Guys

When setting up you search you will see the following option

Search entire posts
Search titles only

Select SEARCH TITLE ONLY. If you are looking for say 99 MM maf, if you select search entire posts you will pick up every thread where someone has 99 MM Maf in there signiture and the thread will have nothing to do with what you are looking for. Also, as a rule, don't select all forums, arrow down and select Lightning forum only. This will give you much better results if you are looking for something pertaining to the Lightning.

Check this out...I did a search for the word "search" and I told it to search for posts by the username "noelvm" and it returned only 52!! Hundreds of posts must have been lost in the upgrade. Anyway, out of the first ten posts the search found, I saw no less than 15 incorrectly spelled words. Not counting "Ligntning" and Eldebrock" in the signature (not signiture) Noel---do a search for "dictionary" or "spellchecker" since you are so proficient at searching.

Only 52? Man, you're right. A bunch must have been lost. Hey, I asked for spell check and the webmaster said no. What can I say. When the teacher asked me what I was going to do when I became an executive like my father and couldn't spell, I answered get a secretary who can.

THEAUTOMAN,

It might be closer to 1000, but I'm glad you said it first.

They haven't been lost...Steven hasn't updated the search index yet. It takes over 6 hours to do it and puts 1 helluva load on the server. He's doing it soon he stated.
