I was told that the sticker on drivers side valve cover shows a date (mine 03-13-01) and that this date may be the build date. Is this the Lightning build date or just the date the Engine was assembled? How can you you find the truck build date out????

Your truck was built over a period of days I'd imagine. You could look for your build sheet if it's even there. I believe this would tell when all the different assemblies where done (?). Some have found it stuffed between their front bumper on their vehicles (not necessarily the Lightning's). Other than that I answered this w/ nothing to add I guess

Sticker on motor is date of motor build your door panel will only have a month/year. In the lower right hand corner of your window sticker you will see a group of numbers the last six will be close to the build date. You will get a SVT certificate with the build date on it. Also look at your frame sould be a green sticker with DAC on each side it has a date too.

 

Sticker on Engine: 03-13-01
DAC sticker on frame: 04-18-01
Sticker in the door jam: 05/01

 

Wow, that's a pretty large spread. My engine was made 3/20/00 and the SVT Cerificate said the truck rolled off the line on 3/30/00. Door jamb say 3/00. Under the hood there's a few components here and there that say 2/00. But the majority of the truck is 3/00.
