Will JL 90mm MAF mount on airaid box?

I have the JL 90mm MAF and chip on the way and was wondering if the MAF will mount directly on to my airaid box. Was wondering if I will have to do some customizing of my own. I just mounted my own ram air setup into the bottom of this box so I would hate to have to remove it.

from what I understand from the folks at AiRaid, the short answer is NO.

You should/may be able to modify an AiRaid box to fit your 90mm MAF, but they told me that their box won't fit an '01L (which as you probably know already is equipped with an 90mm MAF).

hope this helps, good luck.

chris

I don't see why it wouldn't. I mounted a Pro-M 80 with it's attached filter in a airaid box on my 99. It wasn't easy, it just took time to carefully grind out the opening and mounting pad for the maf. If you have a grinder, wirefeed welder and a few beers anything possible!

The 90 mm meter is a FORD product, and will not fit the stock airbox. I do believe that you can simply swap out the upper half of your air box from an 01 L that has the larger opening.

I think you missed the question Spiro, I believe he was asking if the 90MM would bolt onto his AirRaid box, not his factory box.

Actually, I didn't miss it. Without modyfing it will not. I was trying to imply that I would recommend the stock air box over that Air-Aid anytime. In fact..... for spring and summer I would run a modified stock box, and a conical for fall and winter.
