Cool New Track Times

Well, spent the day at the local track making some time runs, they were open today for a special "car club" day event. There were all sorts of GM clubs there, but the biggest one was the corvette guys. Since you guys here on this board are always asking if anyone has seen the 2002 Z06 go yet, I kept an eye out for one. After about 2 hrs of people pulling into the track, there were about 15 Z06s there!! There was one guy who I knew, he has multiple Vipers, ZR1s, and Z06s, as well as all sorts of other cool stuff (owns a large concrete company). I asked him if his was the 405 hp one. He said "well, it's a 2002, but it's a Lingenfelter twin turbo car, it does 230 mph, it's puts out a bit more than 405 hp". Ah, ok, well that's not going to be a good comparison . I asked him if he knew if any of the other ones were 02s, and he told me none of them were real Z06s!! They just added the side scoops, grill inserts and badging. Cool way to tell too, the rear window on the Z06 is not a wrap around fastback window, so after that, it was easy to tell they weren't real

Anyway, on to the good stuff. Since I knew it would be busy, I figured I'd only get to make about 3-4 passes, so I left the laptop home. I loaded PSPs latest 01 program into the truck and headed out.

The air for most of the day was- Temp 79*, RH 60% and BP 29.99 and no wind. I weighed in at 4860, I don't strip the truck, just no spare or hitch, because I have no use for them. Made 4 passes for the day. Two with 60fts over 2.0 and two decent passes. One pass was a 12.63 @ 108.9 with a 1.80 60ft and the other was a 12.60 @ 108.7 with a 1.78 60ft. I did have a best mph of 109.7. I was launching the converter at only 2000, as the one in my truck for some reason is too tight and won't go over that.

I was pretty happy, the truck ran great and the mph was very good. Keep in mind that I run the stock PSP lower pulley, the one we sell, and no upper. Everything on the truck is what we currently sell, no one off special parts or "Secrect Items".

Nice runs, Sal. If I can get my '00 to run like that, I'll be a very happy guy....

Hey, since this is your topic, I figure you'll see my question. Have you heard any of the '01's (or yours) make that BRAAAAPPP noise before a shift at around 1/2 throttle?
