Window Tinting, What to look for?
I would like to get the windows tinted in the L to match the factory back window.
What degree of tint is on the back window?
What do I look for to ensure a good installer when I look at his work?
Should the tint go to the very edge of the glass (or very close) so that it goes up into the seal area?
What brands of professional film are good? or are all professional films goos as long as warrentied?
Average price to do 2 side windows?
Anything else to look for as I check out installers? die cut film cutters, hand cut as installed Etc?
Thanks guys

Check your local codes for the legal tint on side windows.
In GA it's 35%. Much lighter than what is legal for the back window.
That's one reason the factory doesn't tint side windows. Laws differ from state to state.

Tint suggestions
I just got a 3M 15% full metalic tint on the two side windows. Metalic tint looks a little different than the factory rear glass, but it isn't noticable unless you are looking for it. The metalic tint is more relective than non-metalic. It also won't fade and turn purple like some non-metalic tints.
Where ever you go.....try to get a recomendation from someone. Also make sure they warranty their work and the tint itself.

I was in NY for 3yrs and did not have any problems with my tint at 35% all the way around. 8.5" strip on the windshield. But to be on the safe side just call the local State troopers office and they will let you know exactly what it is. As far as a good place to go.. Ask around with cars with tinted windows, Also A good tint place will not leave any gap at the edge of the window. Hope that helps.
I live in Pa. and i know that the tint law is something really stupid like 65%. But i got 5% on the back and 20% on the sides and havent had any trouble. I think that having the sides lighter than the back fools some of the cops into thinking that it is lighter than it really is. Plus i believe that state cops are the only cops that carry tint-0-meters (?) so if you get a cop from a local cop just take the tint off and do it lighter and go fight the ticket. If they didnt read it with a meter they have no way of proving how dark it was.
Did the same thing Limo(5%) on the back and 20% on the sides and no problems. if you see the cops watching just roll them down. they want to bust the kids they leave us old 35 year old alone!!
