Angry rough idle and no more power.

im looking for some possible ideas on what to look for concerning this problem. Truck was runniung fine this morning, it was very wet out, seemed fine, when coming home from work, all of a suddden truck starts shaking at idle, in gear, in park or neutral not as bad, but it is there, when gas is hit engine bogs and hesitates real bad and no power, it might come back to life in the upper rmp ranges but only for alittle and looses power again.

tries pulling chip no help
poped hood poked around no physical signs of problem.
the wierd thing it just hapened real fast, one light fine next, flat on its face..

Sounds like the old fuel pump clamp problem. Has something to do with one of the hoses between the fuel pumps coming off and you only get partial fuel pressure. If you don't have a fuel pressure tester, you'll have to drop the tank or lift off the bed just to find out if that's it or not.

L in Detroit,
It sounds like the same thing I experienced with my L. 85 miles on my 2001 and it started to idle bad, lost power. Gave it to the SVT guys. #4 plug was bad. I got it back and put the NGK's in. Never missed a beat since.

quick update and another question.

not as bad this morning, mostly see problem when stomp on gas or when at a cruising speed then try to accel, it shakes and bogs down, if stay i stay in the gas it will pickup, also pulled all the coil packs and looked for physical wear and tested all leds were all a short between the two leads and all the same readings between one of the leads and where it hooks to the spark plug, is this a good test for the pack or is there someother way to test..

Same problem for year and a half

I had the same problem for over a year and a half. The dealer replaced fuel pumps, plugs, MAF, and more. To this day I still have no idea what the problem is. It comes and goes and some days is worse than others. It does seem like its worse un-chipped. If you figure out the cause of the 'stumble' please post it!
