Yeah, the Probe with the SVT badge is known as a Probra!

Ford never made an SVT probe, they had a turbo probe which was a blast to drive. If I can find one around here for sale I may just get one.

One day I was out f150 shopping with my friend, and we saw a Escort ZX2, not sure if it was a regular escort made to look like a zx2 or a real zx2. Anyway, riced out, had fart can exhaust, huge wing, all the stickers, and ontop of it the kid had the nerver to put SVT badging on it. So every chance I got I revved my engine and flew by then stopped for traffic and repeated. I don't think he got the hint though.

Thumbs down

There's a white F-150 w/blue racing stripes that drives around NW San Antonio that has both the SVT F150 emblem and the Mustang Cobra emblem. When I pulled up behind him at a light, my wife saw the emblems and started laughing. She was still looking at him and laughing when I passed him a few seconds later. I don't think he was too happy.

My STX ran a 16.52 in the quarter mile. I think that red clone with the automatic would be doing good to beat my time let alone a low 13 from a real Lightning.
Doing up a truck to look like Lightning is going to make some one look like an idiot when race day comes.

You should have lit the tires up while standing still in the parking lot and asked if his truck could do that. Fake HD trucks are just as bad.

When I owned a 4th gen Z28, I used to hate when people would put SS and Z28 badges on v6's. Of course, every Honda is an SI, every Acura is a Type R, every Mustang is a Cobra or Saleen , etc..etc..etc..

those darn clones

hey i agree with you guys about putting the lightning bages on there trucks greatly the style sides . this is what i got a 98 f150 ext cab flareside (with) 99 lightning wheels,01 headlights, cornersand tail lights and a double (with) a 4.2 thats right a 6 banger. now i know its not a lightning but iv had alot of people tell me how nice it looks and also i know better than to mess around with real lightnings because they are awsome trucks. the reason i did this to my truck is because i liked the looks of the lightning but i never pass mine off as one. so dont knock everyone that clones there truck just the one that are outright stupid.

man i hope i dont get flamed for this one. i have a 99 style side with the lightning wheels and i just got the bumper on with the fog lights. Not a day goes by without someone commenting on my truck on how good it looks and they think they are badass but i straight out tell them that is just a reg. f150 with the v6. I dont want people to think that i have the real thing cause many a car and truck can beat me on the road and i dont want to give people the impression that they are slow. I have the emblems but i have yet to put them on im still considering it but i just dont know. I would love more than anything to get one but with going to college and only being 19 i cant afford a $30,000 truck just yet and add on top of that the gas and insurance its just better that i have this and mod it the way i want.

I pulled up behind a Typhoon today and wanted to race the guy. As I tried to go around him he pulls off to the bank and low and behold a plain old white blazer with a stupid Typhoon sticker on the rear. What the heck is this guy thinking, trying to cook some Uncle Ben's new Domestic Rice with just a Typhoon sticker on the rear. Guess he thought he could gain 100hp's with a Typhoon sticker. The blazer was not even lowered and still had it's stock wimpy little tires and no body kit.

Too bad he pulled into the bank, I wanted to show this fool how stupid his truck was. On second thought maybe not, cause he might get the idea that putting a Lightning emblem might make his truck fast!

There is one running around North Atlanta that I saw the other day. Until he took off and I could hear it was a V6 with manuial trannie I was completely fooled.

I only caught a quick glimpse, do not know if it was SVT badged or not but he had everything else, ground effects/wheels/side exhaust etc. As I recall it was also mildly lowered.

To be honest, I was impressed. It was well done and sounded absolutely awesome. Love that V6 sound with a good exhaust system.

Like Coco Chanel said "imitation was the sincerest form of flattery"

Plus its fun to embarrass the less sensible copy cats.

Dont forget many of these folks are upside down on the loans for thier 15k trucks and piece by piece is the best way for them to "Build a Lightning". LOL
