At 300 miles: Bad idler pulley, new blower belt also.

Now at 1200 miles: Looks like driver side seat belt latch is bad as per recall. Doesnt retract fully after fastened.

Someone mentioned paint. Have noticed a few small specks and one minor run. Thank God it's white. Only noticeable to me.

I forgot, My brakes squeak. The stuff from the auto parts place only works a couple of weeks then it's back again.

Only problems since March has been two cracked fog lamps and bad spot in the paint on one of the mags. Everthing has been covered by warranty. Guess thats what happens when you buy two Lightnings 18 months apart

I have a 2001 F150 custom cab, less than 10,000 miles.
The only problem so far. The drivers side wiper motor
sounds like it is flying a part. On high speed it over powers
the radio. Almost time for 10,000 mile check up..
Will have it checked then. Other than that F150's "RULE"

The only warranty issue is the clunk at about 800 miles. Dealer fixed it. Now have 1600 miles. So far no clunk..

This is for 2001 owners please.

Not being rude, but I'm trying to get a database of 2001 issues only. Thanks regardless.

14,200+ miles on my 01 (I know, a lot of miles huh? )

Warranty work has been:

1. Both fog lights have been replaced.

2. Both front brakes (rotors, pads) were replaced, my old ones were warped/cracked.

3. I'm taking it in tomorrow to have my drivers seat replaced (hopefully), the bar that all of you talk about is almost completely through the cushion, and it's making it's way out of the seat cover. (i'll post a picture later if any are interested).

But that's about it. And I love this truck more than any vehicle I've had in the past. I'm just currently looking for a daily driver now, to keep the miles off the L (although it's a little late for that )

Yes please post pictures as well as how warantee coverage on seat repair went.

Other than the clunk the seat is my only problem so far and hope your experience will help smooth the way for me.

Thanks - Bob

Just truned 3500 miles, the only real problem I have is the drivers window thing. Has anyone had this fixed? I am conserned about having the dealer take the door panel apart to try to fix this issue. Sometimes it almost sounds like the window is going to smash when it gets to the top. One thing I have noticed is when you put both windows up at the same time it doesn't seem to happen at all. I was thinking that maybe the drivers one by itself goes up too fast and slams the top of the window housing. Just a thought. Oh yeah one more thing I found a nice mark in the paint like a week after i picked it up. Looks like damage from the factory. I can live with it, I don't want the dealer making it worse.

1. Clunk/sliding A-arm bolt

2. Passenger window motor slowly went out

3. Fog lights cracked (replaced under waranty)

4. Rear Window weather trim stuck out in places. I had them pull the glass and fix it.

5. One horn went out.

I have 10,000 miles on the Truck.

Angry

Just took it in for warranty work, still there.

Seat belt latch recall
rear brake squeel under light to mod. pressure
loosing power at around 3000 rpm
vibration at around 90-95 mph, even on dyno
oil leak on front of blower
infamous CLUNK

So far, the power loss was because of a loose connection at the blower, somewhere???? Suppose to be OK now.

Oil leak on blower is from a leaky oil fill plug, on order.

Seat belts OK

Brakes have not been checked yet.

Clunk- good ol' "can't verify problem"

Vibration- drove to posted 70 mph with Ser. Man.-"can't verify problem"

I spoke with the service manager about these last two.
I asked him if they called the SVT Tech hotline? What's that? He asks.
OH BOY!!!!!
How long have you been working as the Serv. Man.? 8-9 years. And you've been an SVT certified dealer for a quite a few years now, right? Yes we have.
And your not aware of an SVT Tech hotline? No I'm not.
Maybe I've taken my vehicle to the wrong dealer for service! Well sir, we cannot drive your vehicle at 90 mph. We are not even sure that Ford has made that vehicle to drive at those kinds of speeds.
:o
So you're not aware of the tech line to see if they have any suggestions for you to fix these? No sir.
OK

Can you guys believe this?!!!

I made a call to higher authorities at the dealer to please have this guy call and get some info from the tech line. Hopefully they will fill him in!

SORRY, had to rant about this!
Later
