Thumbs up awesome 01 diablo chip

As a preface I would like to say as a tuner in the racing industry I am very particular about how well my vehicles run. Having just purchased a 2001 L and living in Boca Raton Fl. ( Diablos headquarters) Made it convenient for me to do a chip, and the fact that I have done Tuning consultation with Diablo made it that much easier for me to spend the afternoon with Patrick and another 01 L owner working on a new program for the cxn1 cpu..The program allows the truck to shift firmly but not harsh at low manifold pressures ( part throttle) and very firm at higher pressures ( larger throttle openings)..Timing was also advanced at part throttle and retarded at full throttle to a point just before detonation would occur, then we set the converter lockup at a much lower RPM, these two changes alone made a very noticable difference in throttle response and an even bigger difference in how well the L accelerates. Other changes were also made which would make this thread a little to long..I literally spent hours working on this and handing the chip off each time to a fellow L owner to try until we both agreed it was thumbs up..The program is 38csfst and can be supplied to any of the Diablo Dist. such as JL etc..And can also be a adjusted to work with other mods..Hope some of you find it helpful in the quest for speed.

p.s Beware of anything tuned on a dynojet or other inertia dyne

Wink

Hey JL
I agree Patrick and Willie are both top notch guys as well as tuners, my association with them dates back a bit as I have been involved in the tuning industry for quite a few years outside the retail side of things..Patrick and I have a deep respect for one another as we each have our abilities..Mine lies within the mechanical tuning and patricks although strong in this area lies in the ability to make things happen in the realm of hex code.I have been called out many a time to consult with them on issues with companies such as Steeda, Vortech etcc..and we've been able to come to great resolve...the new sfst program is just such a result, me driving my truck, telling Pat what I wanted to change and him making it happen..
I'll take you up on the help offer as I see from the threads you've got the L's pretty well figured out and your reputation is flawless
Also if I can ever be of assistance to you please feel free to ask

Paul
p.s That lower pully Pat ordered is for me and I'm really looking forward to trying it
