best 60 foot time yet

I was able to get to the local track last night and had 3 runs.
First run off idle with the new E/T's
.511 r/t 2.093 60 ft. 13.64 e/t 101.77mph
Second run power braked to 2500 rpm
.550 r/t 1.998 60 ft. 13.43 e/t 102.98 mph
Last run power braked to 2000 rpm
.474 r/t yuck! 2.019 60 ft. 13.385 e/t 102.75 mph

All in all I am pretty happy. The modificatations I have so far
are :
Super chip
JDM intake filter
Magnaflow muffler
And M/T 26x11.50x16 E/T's.
I plan on contacting JDM in the next couple of days to get
the lower pulley assembly.

Marc

When you race, take off you front sway bar and you'll gain atleast a tenth.

Marc, try launching at 1000-1200. I get 1.95 60's at that rpm. When doing your burnout, do a slow five count AFTER you start to see the smoke from the tire. Adjust and watch in your side mirror.

With the JDM converter and a 1700 rpm launch I usually get mid to high 7's (1.75 to 1.77).

I am using 28" tall MT racing slicks w/15 in. rims, and actually did have slightly better 60' times with the 25.9 MT et's.

BTW, I race in full trim. Best et 12.49 @ 108.23mph. 82deg/90%humidity. (come on cold weather!)

TimBurnTire: I'm going to be in the market very shortly for some ET Streets myself, and I've heard that the ones on 15" rims offer more sidewall (to twist and grab traction), but that mounting them on the rear of the L requires some grinding of the calipers or something to that effect. Care to elaborate what was required, and what your opinions are with the 15" vs. 16" ET's for a newbie such as myself. Thanks...

Cut my best 60' two weeks ago this Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Sorry, the US Nationals are in town this weekend.

1.89 launching at 1200 RPM with 25psi in the the F1's.

Drove around the H2O box, lightly scrubbed the tires (2 seconds), stabbed to quick to see if it would spin before staging.

Left foot braked and launched with quick steady throttle to the floor, not an F-U stab. Kinda hard to explain.

Backed it up with a 1.92.

Good hunting.
