Talking 400 hp

I am looking to buying an f150 2001 lightning, i have one question that i was hoping any of you could answer, i am wondering if there is any way to increase the standard horsepower to about 400,, it seems to me you could add headers, but i dont know how many horses that would add, anyways, any info you could give me about places to find parts for the truck, or things you have done would help a lot

Thanks

Get a Air Filter setup from anyone of the tuners personally i like Sal at PSP and im waiting for his new FAST air setup =0). But any air filter set up should get you like 15 to 20 hp and the whine on the blower alone is worth it. So 380 hp a 2001 stock with the airfilter just about at your 400 hp hope that helps.

I've dynoed a few open air filters on my Lightning and got the exact same results every time= 0 RWHP.

I also beleive that a stock 99 makes about 420 crank hp. There's no other way that a 5000lb truck w/chip can basically keep up with a Z06.

Now if the guy wants 400rwhp, well he just needs to bolt on everything out there, chip, pulleys, maf, airfilter(at this point I think it starts to help)OTB, magnaflow.

BTW save your money, and do NOT buy a header system.

Yes, read the FAQs.

Don't need a maf on the 01s and probably don't need headers--it seems the stock exhaust system is pretty efficient. See my sig.---I'm almost at 400rwhp....hmmmm, maybe I need a Basanni cat-back?

385 rwhp here. Long tubes, filter and an old program. I'm confident that with my new flip chip, BABolt TB, lower pulley and electric fan I will be well over 400 ponies.

Love to Race!

Chip, filter, and upper or lower pulley will put you in the 400 RWHP range and add some cool fall air and you'll have a couple of 12 sec runs for <$1000.

What do you do for cats with long tube headers? Run with no cats? How hard are the long tubes to install?

I am running some high flow cats from magnaflow. Also, the O2 sensor wires need to lengthened.

I had mine installed 'cause I didn't have the time. He had the old system off and the headers on in less than 4 hours. The installation, dynomax race magnums, custom h-pipe and exhaust only cost $600! So for basically the cost of a bassani system in the box. I've got a system that actually makes some power and it was installed.
