Engine Mods to Lightning

Hello! I'm new to the Lightning group. I'm thinking about buying a Lighting. Right now I drive a 4WD F150 and I want power. It's hard to find an aftermarket supercharger setup that will suffice, so I'm thinking about trading up.

Can you nice folks kindly list for me the engine mods that make the most significanct improvements in power to a Ford Lightning, i.e., smaller drive pulley, headers etc. I think it would be real cool to drive a sub 13 vehicle.

Much appreciate your help. Thank you!

Computer chips are the biggest things with these trucks. then an air filtern lower blower pully, and maybe a few other little things.

The exhaust doesn't really need the full meal deal unless you start add all the mods available.

Nitrous can also make you fly too!

CLASSIFIEDS

Check out out the classified section here on F 150, it could also save you money
https://www.f150online.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/view.cgi

Order of MODS (IMO)

- pulley
- chip
- shift kit
- NITROUS
- 28 x 12.5 x 15 ET STREETS

It really does not take much to get these trucks to run DEEP in the 12's, or even in the 11's with the right combo. Meters, ramairs, Throttle bodies, air kits are not really needed, and really are not worth the money for the little to NO horsepower that comes with their price tags.
As for Exhaust, I agree with KILLA', not much (if any) power is to be gained from them. Stock is fine, but if you want the best sound.......go with BASSANI and you'll be pleased.

Read the Lightining FAQ. Learn how to use the search button. You will find out most of what you want to know. When using the search button restrict your search to the Lightning forum only.
