Cool My New Alpine.

My Nav unit comes on Wednesday (will go under driverside), but here's the rest of the new Alpine system I just put in my truck this weekend:

Cool

I was originally going to get it "installed" for me, but then I changed my mind and decided it would be fun to do it myself. Since the subs had been installed previously, the hardpart (power and sub-box) was done already... This is definately a nice system, glad I picked it up... Saved myself a bundle by picking the pieces up off of ebay!

Looks awesome Daniel, That would be so cool to have a navigation setup. One mod I will have to do some day since I always seem to get lost when I go on trips.

Cool **** man thats the same setup I just did about a month ago and love it. But I got the CVA1005 on the top w/ the Processor under it. The only down fall I had to cut some of the dash in the back because of that stupid slope. Sorry no pics, no digital camera,no speakers yet either,NO MO MONEY???

That is what I want to do!! Where did you get the bracket to hold them in place after you cut? I have no problem removing some of that inner plastic. I just have no way to secure the radio after doing it.

I'd love to hear how you did it!

I just got a double din radio kit and cut the top of the outer plate piece so cause the radio was hitting it and was no sliding out. And the processor piece simply slipped right into the bottom din, I also added a little hot glue to keep it in securely so you dont push it into the dash. It was a little bit of a pain in the *** but what R U gonna do.

Did you look at the new Panasonic, IMO much more advanced and cheaper to boot.

If I hadn't gotten the alpine, I probably would have gotten a Kenwood or Clarion. Panasonic is not a "major player" in the multimedia headunit biz right now. They're unit is soso, but link support for external products just isn't up to par. The only thing I like about the panasonic is the left/right tilt.

I got my Alpine to hook up with the DSP and the Navigation unit. The Alpine Nav is one of the best out there right now...

Smokin -- Where did you get the double DIN adaptor? That is what I can't find, I only found this 1.5DIN jobbie.

Daniel

PS -- I hope to be at GSP on the 9th.
