When street racing goes bad...
Whew,,,glad you lived!
I live on the near north side of Houston, and have never had anything like that happen before. Guess I'm lucky? Anyway what color was this dodge of death? There are probably twenty trucks around this neighborhood that fit the description.
I won't be racing any rams either for a while

People now-a-days have no sense. When did letting something go become so complicated.
I believe it all boils down to not recieving *** whoopins. That puts a lot of sense into people nomatter what age.

I still don't understand two things:
1. Racing on the street at midnight and driving 105+ MPH, with other cars on the road. Maybe I'm too conservative. I just don't get it.
2. I still don't understand how driving faster than someone else could upset them so much that they would get "road rage." BTW, if driving faster than the 1500 was what got him upset, why didn't you try a U turn and head back the other direction, instead of driving faster than him?
Imagine if a cop was around, as you wished. He would have loved hearing your excuse for wreckless driving and excessive speed. "Officer, I was racing this guy and I guess he got upset that I was able to go faster than 105 mph. So, then he shined a light in my car and I got scared. So, then I ran red lights, drove in the center lane, and drove 140 mph to get away. I'm so glad you stopped me."
I know I'm the ONLY one that has posted this viewpoint, so their's no need to flame me. I already know you all think I'm nuts.

Spike,
I don't think your nuts... I think that if I saw a truck I just beat pushing a car out of the way to get to me I would do the same... Almost makes me want to carry my gun with me whenever I drive because there are too many nuts loose at the wheel... I know I'm one but only at the track and on the way home from the adrenalin... Then on the highway once in a while when a BMW, Mercedes or Corvette try to pass...
Master of Pain,
I'm glad you were able to get away... Should have not been a problem though... I would not think someone would spend all that time and money on aftermarket accessories and then start hitting stuff because a Lightning beat a Ram... WOW what a surprise that a L with almost 400 HP beat my Ram with 250 HP...
Later, Justin

I'm with Spike on this one. The "at any cost" phrase is a little upsetting to me. You're not only willing to gamble your safety, but the safety of innocent and uninvolved people? That shouldn't be a choice for you to make IMO.
Good post if it makes people think a little bit about what potentially can go wrong. Luckily you did not play out the worst case scenario which is: you t-bone some one at an intersection and there is loss of life or permanent injury because you decided to do a little innocent street racing. A lifetime of regret is not worth a short adrenaline rush.
Glad you survived and I hope you're a little wiser for the experience. Maybe you should consider a track next time. I'm sure there will be better competition available than a Dodge Ram.

Nothing more fun than chasing down 1/2tonners and thumpin' em with my "cow catcher" front bumper. the look on their faces, when your "shining" them is priceless, or something.
oh, monster Dodges rule!

I ran into the same problem just this weekend. Raced a guy in a Z71. Kicked his ***. I had to race him he was driving around like an ******* cutting people off. After I raced him and sent him to bed. He pulled up beside me. I go to give the thumbs up and he asks my friend what are ****ing problems is. Problem??? My friend responeded with "Ya we have a problem, your trucks a piece of *****". The guy flipped out. Tellling us to pull over blahblahblah. So we did being two big boys. (hockey Players). As soon as we stopped in the parking lot to hear what buddy has to say. He jumps out of his truck with a tire iron. I was thinking are you kidding me. He tryed attacking me with it but my friends grabbed it out of his hands. Threw about 40 yards away. After that happened buddy just turned and hopped in his truck and took off. Didn't get the plate number. Didn't care after that. What a joke. Gets so mad he ready to attack someone with a tire iron. If my friend wasn't there I probobly would have had quite the injury. We wern't even pullin over to fight this guy. We were goin to to tell him to settle down and have respect for a truck thats quicker. Who cares if you lose. Never even got a chance. This guy was a nut. I'm glad no one got injured but I still wish we would have chased him down after and kicked his ***. Someone needs to teach the guy a lesson.
VERY foolish behavior indeed on the part of the MOPAR driver.
In Texas (as well as 34 other states), approximately 1% (or greater) of the citizens have a CHL/CCW accompanied by appropriate hardware. If this turd continues to behave in this manner, it’s just a matter of time before he threatens the wrong person, with possibly fatal consequences.
Anyone imprudently threatening the life/safety of an armed citizen is liable to suddenly gain some weight (about 230 grains).
