Bumper and bed WAY out of adj!! WTF?

Buddy of mine I work with (he owns an 01 as well) comes to me yesterday and says,"you might wanna come look at your truck....its ********* up!" Of course Im thinking the worst! Get in the parking lot and he shows me my front bumper hanging low on one side and sticking way past the fender well on passanger side!! WTF? I never noticed it! Also he points out my bed is sticking out past the cab on drivers side!
Well, I wasnt gonna take it to the dealership and have my baby molested, so I fixed it myself!! What a friggin' nightmare! We had to pull the front bumper off to rig the four main bolts to raise and center it.
Even the rubber protectors under and above the coolers were just hanging there!! What kind of "quality is job 1" is this s***?!
Adjusting the bed was a pain in the **** too!

Anyone else seen these problems with your bolt's?
To top all this off, someone drew a happy face on my oil filter!! (havent done my first oil change yet, just have 1300 miles on her)
Sorry so long, but I just had to vent and see who else has gone through this.

The bumber should be an eazy fix. Did you mess with the 4 bolts on each side that bolted the brace to the bumper. If you did you shouldn,t have .The correct way to adjust the bumper is with the two nuts on each side behind the brace that is welded to the frame! It has verticle and horivonal adjustment.

My bed on the driver's side sticks in too much. The passenger side is nice and flush. You're right, he adjustment is a bitch to do from what I've read directions wise.

I just recently fixed my bed it was off but stuck out more on the passenger side. The biggest pain was getting the damn duraliner out that my dealer had in there since i bought the truck what a bitch. I had to take off my retrax first, then take out the duraliner which by the way is a bitch to get out and im sooo pissed at my dealer that thing scratched up my bed . Well it was alright i was ripping out the duraliner anyone because i ordered a bedrug and that makes the bed look so much more better and looks good with my retrax. Well anyway as for the bed alignment i pretty much did it myself you need i think it was a size 50 torque screw driver and there are 6 bolts in the bed just loosen them and slide the bed over. I actully needed help when i tightened them because when you tightened them it just went right back to where it was so i had my buddie just put weight on the bed pushing it so that it stayed algined while i tightened the bolts. The bed isnt perfect but much better then what it was still sticks out just a little bit on the passenger side but alot more better then what it was. Question though for anyone who has done this did you loosen the bolts all the way i was scared to loosen them all the way didnt know if then i would have to go under the truck to tighten them again? Thanks
Vin

I need to adjust the front bumper too! When i look under the truck, i see 3 sets of bolts, 2 each....1 set is on a diagonal bar....another set is set vertical...and the other one is vertical as well, close to the radiator....which one do i adjust to change the height? Because i guess i just dont see how that works...to I just tighten it up or what??

In my case, the ONLY way to adjust the bumper was to take it off and loosen the keepers (big time pain in the ***!!) and move the two main mounting bolts down on each side. If your bumper isnt that bad out of adjustment, you may be able to just loosen the four bracket bolts on each side and slide the bumper in whichever direction it needs to go. But mine had a 3 inch gap between the bottom of the grill to the top of the bumper all the way around!! I just thought that was the way they came until my buddy showed me his 01!

beat the support bar with a block of wood under the truck until it gets to the desired height

From my understanding this is NOT the way to adjust your bed. The reason it sticks out is because the support bar underneath is set wrong. Look up under the bed at the front where it meets the cab. There is a support bar there that puts tension on the bed (which is fiberglass). That is what you adjust. I can't find the post as of right now because the search hasn't been upgraded, but as soon as Steven gets it done I'll post it again.

The black rubber moulding between the bed and rear bumper is bent up...like they pushed the bumper on without securing the moulding first...Plus, four screws were missing from my ground effects....three on one piece.
