Exclamation Intercooler Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GUYS AND GALS HELP WITH INTERCOOLER PROBLEM
Ok I've done the searches on the intercooler problems, but a friend of mine just got a 00 lightning used. The intercooler started leaking,he took it in to get it looked at , they said since his truck had mods on it he has to pay the bill for a new motor!!!!! So if you have had intercooler problems witth or wiithout mods please leave a brief note,I'll present it to the dealership on his behalf...This is plain bulls$$T...
Just a brief note, and off it goes....Thanks all.

If he bought it with the mods ,whoever he bought it from has to fix it..If he modded it himself and if they can prove the mods caused the problem..hes responsible.

Exclamation

If the damage was caused from antifreeze going through the engine then it's Ford's bill if it's still under warranty. Do like someone else mentioned here, pay it with a credit card and then dispute the charge. You still have wheels while it's being fought.

Cooter and Gomer gettin Medieval

IF he has to pay for ANYTHING, he should pay for ONLY the intercooler "fix" kit and NOTHING more then do it himself.

OR--go see another dealer.

Thumbs down

That's pretty retarted if you ask me. Let's see, Ford has issued a campaign to fix what they now recognize as a problem with the intercoolers, they guy comes in with the problem that Ford is addressing, and the dealer says he can't get it because he's got mods. Some dealers shouldn't exist.

Thumbs up

Thanks Speedin
I have advised him to take it to another dealer,we actually have one here that will do SVT work even though they don't have the SVT items at their dealership,I take my truck the same place.Monday I start working for a dealership that sells Svt vehicles, maybe I can make it a bit easier on some of my L pals.I think it's a relearning process called customer service,I'll probably last a day but what the heck...
Thanks Bob,
Jerry

I was at the track on friday night doin my thing, when this guy walks up and started talkin to me, he introduced himself and said "Thats my rig over there" and pointed to a huge 18 wheeler.

He was the truck driver for the SVTOA group that was going to have a show at our track the next day. Anyway to make a long story short I thought it was kinda funny that one of the first questions he asked me about my truck was "How's the intercooler holding up"?
