Question Racing on stock tires have??

Ok I'm going to the track on Saturday how low should I lower my tire pressure. And will it be better if I take off my K-N when I race

2001 Red...
I also have an 01 Red!
Have had the best launch with 25 lbs in the rear!
try putting 38 lbs in the front (less rolling resistance)
one other thought... be sure and check the torque on all the wheels and no need to do a smokey burn out, just spin them
to get the dirt off and do a few short chirps and stage!

PS..(wheel torque) .... 150 lbs on the 01's!
leave in the K&N

'Dry' spins or burnouts are hard on the trans. parts and others---having said that; go around the water--you don't want any on your F1s(or any other street- only tires). if you've got a 'full-power', strong L, you're going to spin the tires on launch. I (finally) made the decision to get ET Streets just because of this---and I want 12s.

Good luck,

Dan

I run my at 32psi. Pulled a couple of low 1.9 60fts. Going excessivly low on pressure will hurt not help. Pumping up the front may help a little. Drive around the water. Quick turn out the tires to clean, one nice dry hop, stage and go.

Concur with the advice to leave the pressure at 32 PSI, drive around the water box, quick spin to knock off the dust, and stage. I power brake at 1200, and then ease into the throttle very gently. Best 60' for me of 1.930. Best ET's result from absolutely no spin off the line. It feels like a really slow launch, but that's what works.

Now that I have the new E/T Streets, I am oh so tempted to
run the r's up against the blower while power braking and
just let her go when the light hits the last yellow.

Anybody tried this with the stock drive line and E/T"s ??

Yeah, was worse 60'. Has something to do with "flashing" the torque converter. Get best 60' with the E/T's by just stomping it off idle after heating them sufficiently.

Thanks 4D THUNDR.
I will be trying all kinds of launches, but what you said has been
my best also. My best 60' has been 2.001 using your method, so
it appears to me that this is the most consistent.
They say a .1 on the 60' is worth .2 at the traps. If this rings
true I will be pleased..
