Best sounding/performing exhaust setup....
I have a 01L and would like to hear your preferences on exhaust setups for the L's. I would love to have the Bassanni setup but the power gains don't justify the expense (IMO).
I'm looking for both better sound and a no performance loss...
I was thinking of the following:
Straight pipes out of the cat pipe
Magnaflow/Borla Muffler (s)
???
???
I want an aggressive sounding truck but are not willing to sacrifice performance to achieve it.
Anticipated thanks for the ideas,
JC

I did do a search and came up with 2 threads, with only one of them being relevant to my truck. Unless I'm doing something wrong with the search feature, I would still like to know some opinions on this thread.

I put on the Magaflow 14468 stainless and its BADAS_!! Mellow at start up so you don't shake the wall and wake anyone up,mellow at cruising speed as to not rattle you teeth , but pull away from a light or even better hit the passing gear and listen to it ROAR!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, the Bullets do sound good, but man they killed my ears while cruising along because of the resonance in the cab. So I took them off and put on the Magnaflow. It was nice but didn't have that "growl" I was after. Maybe if it'd had headers like sixpipes' does, it would've been great. But it just sounded too much like stock for me and I noticed no power increase or decrease with it. So off came the Magnaflow. Now I've got twin 40 series Flowmasters and the truck hasn't lost any power and sounds like the Bullets without any resonance at all. From all the positive comments I've heard, the Bassani probably has the best sound, although I've not heard it myself. But I can't justify that huge cost for little power gain, if any. If it were in the $300 - $400 range for the cat-back, I'd do it. But last time I checked it was closer to $600. I've got $250 in a decent Flowmaster job out the side with 3 1/2" chrome tips that make people stare at the bottom of my truck at lights. And it sounds wicked on startup and part throttle where the Magnaflow didn't. But the Magnaflow may have sounded better at WOT but wimpy IMO on startup and part throttle. Does this help? Probably not.
