Rearends ???

I wanted to know if you could tell me what size axle do you guys have in the rear stock? I wanted to know and I can't find it. Just wanted to know how all yall run slicks and don't break nothing.

Look here, I'm gonna let you in on a little Lightning super secret. If you repeat this to anyone, we will hunt you down.
Lightnings never officially break when racing. I don't recall a single post on this board over the last year where someone admitted to breaking their Lightning while racing. Well, there was that one aluminum driveshaft I just remembered.



Ok, really, the L rearend is pretty damn strong. It is a 9.75-in. ring gear with limited-slip differential. The transmission will most likely break first.

I don't think that there is enough traction in these things to break that 9.75" rear. It is, however, possible to break driveshafts. Ther have been several posts concerning that.

rj96stang, I realize now that I didn't answer your question. I thought you were asking the size of the ring gear. I don't know the axle size, what I posted already is the only info I could find.

I have not heard of anyone breaking an axle or the ring gear and there are plenty of guys running slicks as you already know.
