Blown R/T showed up last night

Decided to go to the only track that was running last night even
though it was import night.
While I was waiting in the staging lanes for my first run, this young gentleman came up to me and informed me that his buddy
had just arrived with his Blown R/T, and asked if I had ever had
the experience of running one of them.
I replyed, "no, do they run strong"? He informed the that his buddy thought his did.
Well, my first pass was run right on my usual at 13.56 102.22
with the normal 2.020 60 foot time. ( need some m/t's)
I pulled back into the lanes in time to watch the blown R/T run
a 14.45..........
I made four more passes all between the 13.56 to 13.58, twice
I was able to pull along side the blown R/T in the staging lanes
and with a little persistance was able to be next up with him at
my side.
Would you believe that both times this happened, he managed to convince the staging attendent that we wanted to run against
his buddy who just happened to be behind me.
I didn't see all his runs, but what the ones I did see were all in
the 14"s.
It truned out to be a pleasing night for me.

01 Silver Cowl induction hood , JDM filter, superchip, thats all
but the lower pulley thing sounds interesting

R/T's run better with juice then blowers!

from what I have seen anyway

either way there going to have a hard time keeping up with us

Buy that pulley, and get yourself a intake of somekind and you should run in the 12's on a good night.

Why?

I dont understand why they are so slow. They've got an extra 30 cid and weigh much less. Are the blower kits they are using not intercooled?

Pulled up to an RT/ last week at a red light and reved up. He rolled down his window and said "You win, I stand no chance, your the better man" Im glad that he said that, because I would have used 1/4 a tank of gas and 1/5 a tank of nos beating the ever living crap out of him. This would have been my 1st RT/ race so I was going to do super overkill. I think about a 2.5 sec difference would have said enough!!!!

Cool

It's a good feeling having all that horsepower at your disposal. i usually tell revv'ers:

"With all this reving going on, i can't remember , if i armed 2 switches or three, and seeing that this is a 500hp blown-nitroused racing truck, that can blow your a$$ clean off the street, you've got to ask yourself if your feeling lucky,,,, well,,, do ya,,, punk?

or words, to that effect, or something

Don't take them too lightly. With the right combination of parts, they will give you a run for your money. I'm not defending the RT's, but there is one here in town that can run 13's with ease. He cannot outrun my lightly modified 00', but he can stay with me a short distance (actually, my son raced him).

The key is:
Vortech blower, Jet chip and ladder bar rear suspension. Those trucks are lighter than ours by about 400 lbs. As it is with our trucks, traction is the key to making a quick run.

I think that Dodge products are diffidently second rate, every last one of them! This also includes the 7 or 8 litter Viper that can only muster ~400 hp; heck Ferrari can do the same with a 4-litter NA engine.

If you look at their strategy you’ll see their inferior product line. If they make a POS and detune the heck out of it then they don’t have to repair it under warranty.

Ford and Chevy compete hand and hand for every last vehicle that they can sell, so they have to up the hp and quality to attract new customers.

Dodge is only the cleanup company for the bottom feeders; I also would really like to see the metallurgy between the different carmakers.
