How high is insurance?

Anyone in Michigan, say, State Farm, how much higher is your insurance from your other trucks, or vehicles. We are considering an L, and dumping the Minivan due to the high payment and getting a low payment car. ANyways, if the insurance isnt "Corvette/Camaro high" we'll get an L next year.

Is the L insurance alot higher than that of an F150?

I can only tell you about CA insurance. I was a bit stunned at my agents quote. I was driving a '94 Dodge RAM 2500 4x4 ($800 a year) and my '01 Lightning was only $900! Being a teacher w/ Horace Mann insurance has it's advantages.

I have State Farm and it is listed on my policy as just a F150 even though I told the agent that it was a Lightning (they asked). My insurance went down from the previous '98 Cobra.

I live in West Central Missouri and own three cars and have State Farm. I pay $94 a month for three vehicles, am single, and under the age of thirty. Multi-car discounts are the way to go. I have a partially restored 72 Cutlass and "91 Grand Am as a daily driver. Why waste the L's miles going to and from work. It is a pleasure vehicle and should be treated as such.

I had a 97 Dakota (don't laugh, it was paid for) and insurance was 441.xx every six months (250 liab & 500 coll. deductables). I bought the Lightning and my insurance dropped 6.82 every six months. I am over 30 with one car.

Must be nice!

Wow,
I am with AIG I think and I am paying 2000 a year, the funny thing is that is the lowest I have been able to find! Others were close to that every 6 months! I guess that will change when I hit 25, won't it? Only another year and a half. Oh yeah, I have never had a speeding ticket or accident. Go figure.

Any other young people have better luck with another insurance company? Thanks.

checked what mine would be on a new L a few weeks ago.......$2400 a year was the cheapest I could fine. I love being a 21 year old male with 0 tickets. Oh well, guess that's the price you have to pay for fun.

Now that my last tickets are over 2 years ago (with a Lightning!?!), I'm down to <$800/year with AAA for FULL coverage. Pushin' 50 probably helps that number though.

When the SEARCH function is back up, find the several previous threads. Most people seem to find that there is only a small upcharge over a standard F150.
