Question need help with lower pulley install!!!

I installed a lower blower pulley today and it seems to wobble up and down when the truck is at idle. I removed the pulley to check my work and found the pulley not to be a perfect fit on the crank hub?? When the bolts are loose you are able to move the pulley in any direction about a 1/4in. The hub is smaller then the opening in the pulley. Are you supose to center these things by eye??? Anyone else have this problem. I think i may have gotten a incorrect pulley. I would like to go to the track on wed night but i'm afriad the belt might come off at high rpm. thanks for any input..

Hmmm they're not supposed to wobble. Whose pulley are you installing?

If the hole in the pulley center is larger than the raised portion of the balancer, it sounds like you have an 01 pulley and a 99-00 balancer. Did you get the pulley from us?

I got the pulley from JL. What your saying is correct the raised portion of the hub is a loose fit in the pulley. My truck is a 99, do you think i got a 01 pulley?? Do you think it is safe to drive like this??

not sure exactly about why you have a wobble, maybe it is like some said above about being for the incorrect year application, but my advice would be NOT to drive it like that.

Seems like to me that would cause some serious crankshaft harmonics (vibration problems) that could possibly damage your crank bearings and hurt your motor.

just my .02

Exclamation

You should not have play like that. The pulley is supposed to center on the damper, not by the bolts. You should not drive the truck like this.
